Dear Parents/Guardians:
As you may be aware, the number and case rate percentage of tri-town residents per 100,000 residents who have contracted COVD-19 has increased during the past two weeks in two of our three towns. According to the Eastern Highlands Health District, this surge is likely due to the residual effects of New Year holiday small gatherings of family members not from the same household, small social gatherings, and workplace settings. Furthermore, we have experienced a small number of COVID cases regarding parents and siblings of Parish Hill students
Accordingly, out of an abundance of caution, I am extending the period for the remote learning model for Parish Hill through Friday, January 29. We plan on having students return to the in-person learning model on Monday, February 1. As with any learning model, it is paramount for the district to ensure the safety and welfare of our students and staff. We will continue to analyze all COVID-19 data and regularly seek advice and direction from the Eastern Highlands Health District. Should there be any future changes in learning models for Parish Hill, we will inform you in a timely fashion.
With this extension of remote learning for the week of January 25-29, it is important to note that the mid-term exam schedule will now call for mid-term exams to be administered remotely on Monday, January 25, and Tuesday January 26 excluding make-up exams. All students have already been provided with the mid-term schedule.
I will continue to keep you apprised. Please stay safe and stay well.
Sincerely,
Kenneth V. Henrici Brian Tedeschi
Superintendent Principal
