Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Visitors:

Hello and welcome to our school website!

I am proud to share that Parish Hill is the 62nd ranked (top 38%) public high school in the state of Connecticut as determined by US News and World Report.  Furthermore, Parish Hill is the 20th ranked public high school in the Worcester metro area, which includes portions of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.  The rankings are based on student access to Advanced Placement courses, performance on required state assessments, graduation rate, and college preparedness.  This accomplishment is the result of hard work and dedication by all, and is a great source of pride for the Parish Hill community.

Through the collaborative efforts the Parish Hill Action and Community Team – PHACT PTSA–Parish Hill staff were awarded a remarkable 5 out of 8 state wide recognitions by the Connecticut Parent-Teacher Association as follows: Timothy Prouty 2019 Connecticut High School Teacher of the Year, Joy Griffin 2019 Connecticut Middle School Teacher of the Year, Thomas McKenna 2019 Assistant Principal of the Year, Brian Tedeschi 2019 Connecticut Middle School Principal of the Year, and Kenneth Henrici 2019 Superintendent of the Year.  I am also proud to share that Parish Hill is one of two Connecticut high schools to be named a National Parent Teacher Association School of Excellence; a most remarkable accomplishment!

Parish Hill offers a comprehensive curriculum featuring Advanced Placement classes in Biology, Computer Science, US History, Statistics, Calculus AB, English Literature, English Language, Spanish, French, Art 2 and 3 Dimensional Design, and Music Theory in addition to Allied Health, Art, Business, Family and Consumer Science, Culinary, Health, Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, Technology Education and two World Languages.  Parish Hill offers a variety of options for students to earn certificates and college credit through collaboration with the University of Connecticut and other local community colleges.  Our dedicated faculty collaborate to ensure our students find success, discover passions, and develop talents.  This team approach, in combination with community support and commitment to our core values and beliefs, enables Parish Hill to function at a high level.  In addition, Parish Hill initiated a 1:1 Chromebook program at the start this school year.

All Parish Hill sports teams made post-season tournaments last year, including a Connecticut all-state basketball player and a state champion bowler.  Our band and chorus programs continued a tradition of success by taking gold and platinum ratings at regional music festivals.  Our 2019 Empty Bowls event raised over six-thousand dollars to support local charities and food pantries, and was previously awarded the Connecticut State Department of Education/Connecticut Association of Schools Challenge to Educational Citizenship Award.  The Parish Hill Robotics Club has taken first place in TSA VEX regional robotics competitions against schools from CT, MA, NH, NY, and RI.  Experiences like these are but a few examples of how Parish Hill prepares students for 21st Century life in a small family-like environment.

On behalf of the Parish Hill community, I look forward to working with you to make this a great year!
